Unit 2: Assignment 1

The topic that I decided to choose for this particular assignment is “pregnancy.” The search engines that I choose were google.com, yahoo.com, and bing.com. The results that came back for Google and Bing, for the most part, shared the same similarities, aside from the fact that the results were out of order. Yahoo also shared similarities with these two, although, roughly 1-2 links were different. For the meta-search engines, I chose metasearch.com, mamma.com and dogpile.com. These search engines all came back with the same results, but again, in different orders. The only difference that I found with meta-search engines was in dogpile. Instead of pulling up the same results as the other two, one of the top five links were different. All and all, both search engines (regular and meta-search), all shared a lot of matches, and except for 1-2 links being different or out of order, there isn't much of a difference.
